About the Event
About Morrigan:
The Morrigan is one of the most prominent goddesses in Druid & Celtic lore. She is a triple goddess, representing the Maiden, the Mother, & the Crone. She is a warrior & a shapeshifter that most favors the crow, representing her wisdom & ability to transform matter & engage with death. She has been called the Irish Kali, eating & being eaten, constantly engaged in the cycle of life, death, & rebirth.
In Arthurian legends, she is thought to be represented by Morgan le Fay, who brings Lancelot to the Valley of No Return where he must face incredible challenges, not the least of which, dragons. She also brings King Arthur to Avalon, a heavenly territory. In both cases, she ushers individuals between realms. She oversees transitions between layers of reality, as well as rites of initiation. The Morrigan represents challenge, death, rebirth, karma, & change. She represents commitment, & once one commits to the Morrigan, there is no undoing the vow.
Working with the Morrigan teaches sovereignty, peacefulness in the face of death (both literal & figurative deaths), & a commitment to truth above all else. She will not save you from consequences, but she will empower you incredibly in the time you have in this life.
Samhain, or the end of the pagan year which usually falls around the end of October, is a very auspicious time to honor the Morrigan, as the veils between the realms are thin.
